We support “Alliance for Latvia without orphans”

Glasstone values reach beyond aesthetics and respect for the traditions of commemoration. We know that we shape the society in which we live both as individuals and as a team. We are responsible for it. Every individual life that we touch, to a greater or lesser extent, affects the further development of society and the course of events. Therefore, as a team, we want to leave a positive footprint on society. We live in the present respecting the past and striving for a better future.

With new ideas and a fresh dose of enthusiasm, Glasstone not only participated but also helped with the organisation of the first “Alliance for Latvia without orphans” (Alianse Latvija bez bāreņiem, ALBB) charity dinner on June 14th, 2018, provided photo-coverage during the annual convention on July 28th and continue with communication support.

The goal of ALBB is to provide support on the path to a loving, safe and stable family for each child. In 2015, the organisation rehabilitated 123 Ukrainian children, for which the head of the organisation within the framework of the project “Family to Family”. Irina Čžou – received the honorary title of “The pride of Latvia (Latvijas Lepnums) 2015”. Since 2016, up until today, ALBB has provided 70 orphanages with support people – stable, long-term relationship-oriented mentors. The mentors help children prepare for independent lives in society; they communicate spiritual, moral and cultural values and become vital support person who helps children in their independent lives after leaving the orphanage.

We actively encourage everyone to support ALBB’s energetic and positive efforts to improve the quality of life of children orphans!

About the charity dinner

The sophisticated charity dinner for entrepreneurs took place in a modern Latvian cuisine restaurant St.Petrus in the Old Town Riga and was accompanied by melodies of a saxophone played by Māris Trankalis. The purpose of the dinner was to start and strengthen the cooperation with entrepreneurs for the development of the mentoring project “One Hope” for orphans. ALBB actively encouraged companies to express their interest in co-operation or financial support, offering a convenient and transparent way of donating.

Guests were treated to the chef’s special menu, an interactive entertainment program and an informative presentation of the goals, activities, successes and support options of ALBB. The guests – 34 representatives from 16 mixed size companies – were honoured by the presence of Aigars Rostovskis, the president of “The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry” and Irina Čžou, the head of ALBB, winner of the honorary title “The pride of Latvia (Latvijas Lepnums), 2015”.
